Michael Brun has solidified a reputation as a global artist with local roots as he takes on the sounds of the moment while representing talent from all corners of the world. Consistent with his hit tracks like ‘Positivo’ with Colombian superstar J. Balvin, Soweto, Jalouzi, Wherever I Go, and Gaya - Brun continues this untamed commitment to worldly collaborations with his new single Spice, out today, featuring Grammy-nominated Nigerian artist Kah-Lo.
Spice is a UK house-inspired tune with an infectious 90s flair offering an endless summer playlist topper. By blending Kah-Lo’s grime-influenced rap style seamlessly with Michael’s vibe-focused production, the two create a wholly originally tune that’s bursting with international flavor.
When Kah-Lo relocated from Nigeria to New York to pursue her music career, she took with her an array of influences from her home country. Her breakout in the music scene came in 2016 with her joint single alongside UK house veteran Riton called ‘Rinse and Repeat.’ This track was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2017 Grammys and amassed millions of plays across streaming services and subsequently, so did her three following releases with Riton: Fake ID, Ginger, Fasta, and their remix of Selena Gomez’ Back to You.
This year has been a whirlwind for Michael, selling out all dates of his summer ‘Bayo’ tour in the US and producing the Telemundo World Cup anthem ‘Positivo’ alongside internationally-recognized artist J. Balvin, now with over 25 million plays across streaming platforms. Spice comes on the heels of his latest venture, the City Series, which sees Michael collaborating with artists from communities around the world that have played a part in his development into a global music activist.
